God, I love Top Gear. It’s so conservative. Proper I-can-do-whatever-the-hell-I-like-including-smoke-a-pipe-in-a-public-place-and-drive-at-294-miles-per-hour conversative, not ’stick-up-arse’ conservative. You don’t see that on British tv much these days. It’s all fucking political correctness and safety-safety-safety and not-calling-a-spade-a-spade bollocks and we-must-have-a-black-guy-and-an-asian-guy-and-a-lesbian-chick-in-this-or-else-we-will-get-called-racist. And oh-my-heavens, I’ve gone all Ira Levin on your arse. Rosebaby’s Baby is a fantastic book, but the dashes are so annoying.
